BEAR SAFETY

During the late Spring and into Fall, bears and other wildlife are active in Burnaby Lake Regional Park. Please be #BearAware to avoid negative encounters with them and keep wildlife wild.

For your safety:

  • Never surprise a bear make noise, talk loudly or wear a bear bell.
  • If you see a bear, stay back 100m.
  • Never approach a bear, and change your route.
  • If you encounter a bear, stay calm and slowly back away.
  • Help Others stay safe by letting them know if there is one ahead so they can change routes.
  • Ensure your pet is on a leash and follow Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Canine Code of Conduct.

Report all wildlife conflicts to the BC Conservation Officer Service RAPP Line at 1-877-952-7277

NEW MEMBERS: Pick up your new key and sticker on any posted Renewal or Intake date. You will not get an email. Must bring your old key for exchange, and badge for new sticker.

Application and payment must be received 72 hours prior to pickup. No exceptions!

  • Our tournaments are World Registered.
  • You DO NOT need to be a Burnaby Archers member, however, when you Pre-Register with us for a 720, you WILL NEED to provide your BC Archery / Archery Canada number.
  • Please make sure to secure your spot by pre-registering.

  • Include full name, gender, age, phone no, equipment, category and BCAA/AC number.

  • Compound
  • Double 720 Round 50m Recurve
  • Double 720 Round 70/60m Barebow
  • Double 720 Round 50m Senior
  • Junior, Cadet and Master Division Bowhunter competes with the Compound division but would need to meet the rules for allowable equipment bow weight and arrow size

8:30am - Check in and equipment inspection 9:00am - Practice 10:00am - Score


Fees - Pay at the field

  • Seniors and Masters - $20.00 morning $30.00 all day
  • Junior and Younger - $15.00 all day

Burnaby Archers Membership Fees
a) Single $110

b) Family $220 (living in same household)

c) Or Proof of current BC Archery Association membership


There are no additional fees for juniors to shoot during this session.​Those that do not pass the Burnaby Archers proficiency test may still participate - participants must supply their own archery equipment and score cards - targets and butts will be supplied by Burnaby Archers.


Those wishing to participate in the BC Archery Association’s Jr Olympian Program must be a member of BC Archery Association.


Help to set up and take down the butts will be appreciated.

RESPECT YOUR FELLOW ARCHERS - BE COURTEOUS - ADHERE TO ALL RANGE RULES


REPORT A CONCERN


If you see any suspicious or worrisome behaviour at the field e.g. loitering, damaging property, or just feel uneasy about using the field for any other reason - you can call 604-294-7200 City of Burnaby right away.


They will often have Park Patrols and Service trucks near the area and they will come as quickly as possible.


Phone Number for the Park Patrol is also posted on the Notice Board at the field.


If however, it’s an Emergency - call 911 right away !
